ESPN+ : That’s the sports streaming service

Must Try

ESPN+ Monthly Subscription Service

$6.99 FROM ESPN

Streaming services offer a convenient alternative to cable and satellite packages, and there are now options that even include live sports for select leagues and special events. ESPN+ is one of the leading sports streaming services, and its low-cost subscription plan should satisfy many sports fans’ appetites.

To help you decide whether ESPN+ is suitable for your needs, we broke down all the ins and outs of the service, including pricing, packages, and details on all the sports you can stream.

What is ESPN+?

ESPN+ is a streaming subscription service that’s considered a complement to existing ESPN content. Think of it as an add-on to the standard ESPN app with live games, exclusive on-demand videos, and access to what was formerly known as ESPN Insider.

Though ESPN+ has its lineup of live sports, on-demand shows, and exclusive programs, the service does not include access to the regular ESPN cable channel.

ESPN+ is available to stream on mobile devices, media players, and select smart TVs.

ESPN+ includes many exclusive video content from live games to on-demand shows and exclusive stories. Unfortunately, the live games come with commercials — just like regular TV.

Subscribers can watch live games from the MLB, NHL, and MLS when their seasons are active; there are no live NBA or NFL games. There’s also PGA golf, UFC, college football, international soccer, and tennis.

In addition to games, ESPN+ also features original shows, including in-depth game recaps and analyses hosted by Peyton Manning and Daniel Cormier and a shorter version of “NFL Primetime.” Documentary programs, like “30 for 30” and full replays of historical NFL games, are also available to stream on-demand.

Does ESPN+ offer UFC PPV and UFC Fight Night events?

ESPN+ offers exclusive UFC pay-per-view (PPV) matches. The PPV events cost $75 for existing subscribers. ESPN+ also offers a special discounted bundle for new subscribers, including a one-year membership and one PPV event for $99.98.

The next UFC PPV fight in UFC 273: Volkanovski vs. The Korean Zombie on April 9. The match will occur at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. UFC 273’s main card will begin at 10 p.m. ET.

In addition to PPV matches, ESPN+ also features access to UFC Fight Night events. Fight Nights are typically included in a regular ESPN+ subscription for $7 a month.

What’s not included with ESPN+?

ESPN+ is separate from the ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNews cable networks, so a subscription will not grant you access to live games broadcast on those channels. You can’t use ESPN+ to watch live games during Monday Night Football. That said, some MLB games are still available to be streamed.

Your ESPN+ membership is not the same as a cable account with access to the ESPN networks, so you’ll still need cable or a live TV streaming service with ESPN to watch the virtual channels.

How much does ESPN+ cost?

An ESPN+ subscription will run you $7 a month or $70 annually. If you do the math, an annual plan will save you about $14 a year compared to paying for 12 months with the month-to-month plan.

If you’re looking for a perfect gift for any sports fan, you can now purchase an annual ESPN+ gift subscription for $70. New members can only redeem gift subscriptions.

If you’re looking for even more streaming content, there’s also a combo package that bundles ESPN+ with Hulu and the Disney Plus streaming service for just $14 a month — an $8 savings each month compared to getting all three services separately. Where can I watch ESPN+?

One of the cool things about ESPN+ is that you can access it through the current ESPN app.

Instead of launching a separate app, all the ESPN+ content is unlocked in the ESPN app once you subscribe. The app is available on virtually every platform you can imagine — phones, tablets, laptops, Roku players, Fire TV products, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, PS4, Xbox One, and Samsung smart TVs.

You can also stream on up to three devices simultaneously with one account.

How do I sign up for ESPN+?

Head over to the ESPN+ website and create an account, or open your existing ESPN account and you’ll be prompted to sign up.
