In the first round of Group F of the 2022 World Cup, Belgium beat Canada 1-0, Courtois saved a penalty, and Michy Batshuayi scored.
Canada missed an excellent opportunity in the 10th minute. Carrasco blocked Buchanan’s shot with a handball in the penalty area. A-Davis shot a low image from the bottom left corner and was saved by Courtois. Belgium broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, Alderweireld made a long pass, and Batshuayi volleyed into the net from 10 yards.
Belgium slowed down in the second half, and neither side created better scoring opportunities.
